Canadian General Investments, Limited (CGI) is a publicly traded closed-end equity fund focussed on medium to long-term investments in primarily Canadian corporations. Its objective is to provide better than average returns to investors through prudent security selection, timely recognition of capital gains and appropriate income generating instruments.

CGI was established in 1930 and has been managed since 1956 by investment manager Morgan Meighen & Associates Limited.

Net asset value per share (NAV) and/or market price and market return are published daily/weekly in various media in Canada, the United Kingdom and the United States.

CGI's common shares and preferred shares are traded through stock brokers and listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange. CGI's common shares are also listed on the London Stock Exchange.

Of note, CGI issued warrants at no cost to its common shareholders effective February 21, 1995. These warrants expired on July 3, 2007. For information concerning CGI's warrants, go to Warrants.

CGI is the only active internationally listed closed-end Canadian equities fund. CGI is a founding member of the Closed-End Fund Association (CEFA) in North America.
